Install Clipgrab on Ubuntu and you can download videos from Youtube and other sites

ClipGrab is an application with GUI for downloading YouTube videos directly from your Ubuntu desktop. The videos can be saved in many media formats including the possibility to save only audio from YouTube videos. ClipGrab is available in different platforms (GNU/Linux, MAC, and Windows), but here we will only see how to install it on Ubuntu (11.10/11.04). ClipGrab is a free software for downloading and converting online videos from many sites .

ClipGrab can download from the following sites: YouTube, Clipfish, Collegehumor, Dailymotion, MyVideo, MySpass, Sevenload, Tudou, Vimeo.

Using ClipGrab is very simple! You type a keyword, press Enter and all related videos will be displayed. Select the desired video and click “Grab this clip!” button to save it to your hard drive. You can save the video in the following formats: WMV, MPEG4, OGG Theora, MP3 (audio only), OGG Vorbis (audio only).

 

Step to Install clipgrab on ubuntu 11.10 :

Open the terminal and run the following commands

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:clipgrab-team/ppa

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install clipgrab

In my opinion it is a better app because it can download videos as well as also convert it in any video format as we want . Clipgrab is what you want in your Ubuntu . now you won’t miss a single videos from the web .
